4 Brains in 1

As we may have heard during the elementary computer classes, the processor is the "brain" of a computer... Now, how many brains do we humans have??? I beleive we have only 1.

But so happens that nowadays computers have more than one "brains"... This revoloution started with AMD's introduction of a dual-core processor chip... By dual-core we mean two processing units on a single chip working together... It didn't take much time before Intel joined the team "more than one brains" by introducing its own dual core processor chip, called the Intel Core 2 Duo...

Now things changes again !!! Intel makes a giant leep for "computer kind" by introducing a quad core chip... That means instead of 2, now there are 4 processing units in a single chip.... That means "4 brains in 1"... This happened a few days ago when Intel announced the release of it's 2 quad-core processors - Quad-Core IntelR XeonR 5300 and Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-core...

So,,,,,, How about if we had that many brains; ever thought about it??? ;)

I do suppose that now AMD has a quad core chip. But here they made a difference between theirs and Intels...

Intels Quad Core is made by putting two Core 2 Duos together. That means there are 4 processing units working/sharing with '2' blocks of resources.

AMD on the other hand put 4 processing units along with 4 blocks of resources allowing each of the processing units to work with its own resources, thereby achieving better performance that Intels.
