Microsoft Security Essentials

Image
I never expected this. Microsoft is famous for its greed for money and go about overcharging everything and expecting money wherever ethically should be free. I mean seriously, if a dad buys a product, he has to buy a separate license, if he has to share it with his son. Legally seems right, but ethically NOT. Now who would expect somebody like that to give away stuff for free, right?? That's exactly what Microsoft did. They made a security suite and its FREE for anybody with a genuine windows. The installer is just under 5MB(for my Windows 7 x64) and the installation happens in warp speed. The time takes when you do your very first update. You see, Microsoft made the installer in such a way that it does not contain any virus definitions at all. So, this is definitely not to be installed on a PC tats already infected. The settings are all great and easy to understand. So, it scores a lot for user-friendliness. However, I do miss the option of customizations which howeve...

ZoneAlarm Acquired by Norton???

Image
Did Norton acquire ZoneAlarm(Checkpoint)?? The above screen pretty much reminds me too much about Norton 360(refer my post about it to know why). I thought of waiting for a day. But I just can't. This thing is making it impossible for me to use my computer by slowing things down. I am beginning to think that Nortons a lot better at this. I am going back to my bitdefender total security(so far the best I've seen).

I had to shut it down to access my blog to post this. I am really tempted to uninstall and go back to bitdefender. However lets wait for one more day(lets not be too hasty :) )...

Billing and CRM Systems

Image
I have been always thinking that a Billing system and a CRM system are a piece of cake. You know, the things you teach programming with in schools, the database linked applications like the Super Market thing, Inventory and then the hospital management programs which your teacher asks you to "memorise" for the exams ;) So, when I heard Billing and CRM System when I first walked into Telstra in Accenture, the above was pretty much what I had been expecting. I had no idea what I had gotten myself into ;) It was like accidently running into the beast. Comverse and Oracle are the makers of the wonderful products called Kenan Arbor and Siebel CRM . Kenan is coming from comverse and Siebel is coming from Oracle. I just learned that Comverse has now made a new product called the Comverse One which includes both Billing and CRM systems together as a package.  Now I guess its pretty obvious that any company who needs a billing system would also need a crm system. Why? Well, Duh,,,...
